about

Rita "Omuwa" Omozuafoh is a Nigerian digital illustrator living and practising in Birmingham, United Kingdom. Their work explores the surrealist aspects of inhabiting a Black body, navigating migration and dissecting identity as a way of understanding self. Omuwa takes inspiration from African spiritual motifs and traditional tarot designs to blend symbolism with portraiture and visual storytelling. They are known for the cover art and co-creative direction of Kiyo’s Home LP (2020), the co-designed cover for Ani Kayode’s debut novel And Then He Sang A Lullaby (2023), and portrait photography featured in Vogue Italia.
